Man charged following vehicle stop in Sudbury

A man has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs following a vehicle stop in Sudbury. 

The vehicle was stopped on Northern Road, Sudbury on Tuesday 17 March. Items were seen to be thrown from the vehicle before it was stopped by police. The man detained and both he and the vehicle were searched. Officers found suspected Class A drugs both inside and outside of the vehicle. 

The man was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre. 

Ilmi Meta, 33, of Southbury Road, Enfield, Greater London, was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and with acquiring, using or possessing criminal property. He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 March, where he was bailed to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 20 April.
